The Beginning Algebra
Conference encourages the following types of submissions in any of the
topic areas listed below or any related areas:
- Completed research
papers
- Panel discussions
- Abstracts of completed
or proposed research (the abstract for proposed research should include
the research objectives, proposed methodology, and a discussion of expected
outcomes)
- Research done by
students
- Case studies
- Work-in-Progress
Reports or Proposals for Future Research
- Incomplete research
or ideas for future research in order to generate discussion and feedback
- Reports on Issues
Related to Teaching
- Reports related to
innovative instruction techniques or research related to teaching

Format
of Presentations
Each presentation will
be given one 30 minute period which includes time for discussions. The
following supplies will be provided:
- IBM compatible computer
with CD-ROMs, DVD’s, and USB “Flash” drive capability
- Microsoft PowerPoint,
Word, and Excel, and Plug-in for MML are installed for your convenience
- Overhead computer
projector
- Internet connection
- ELMO
- SMART Board
- White board with
markers and erasers

Submitting
a Proposal
- Create a title page
for your submission that includes:
- title of the
submission topic
- area of the
submission (chooses from above list)
- requirements
- name(s) of
the author(s)
- department(s)
and affiliation(s)
- mailing address(es)
- e-mail address(es)
- phone number(s) of
corresponding author if different than lead author
- Submit your abstract
and/or paper along with the title page by September 12, 2008 using one
of the following methods:

to (please supply two copies of your submission):

- Receipt of submissions
will be acknowledged via email within 48 hours. There is a limit of two
contributed submissions per lead author.
- Submissions
will only be published in the conference proceedings if at least one
of the authors registers and attends the conference. More information
will be provided upon acceptance.
- Authors will be notified
of acceptance by September 19, 2008.
- Submission of copy
ready paper due by December 30, 2008 via email to aburden@math.ysu.edu.
