Youngstown got hit with torrential amounts of rain on August 7. The drainage system on Phelps Street backed up and the area between Williamson and Phelps Building was subject to a short-lived flood.

Less than a year after the previous big rainstorm, YSU got drenched again. On July 22, 2008, the drainage system on Phelps Street and Lincoln Avenue backed up and the roads of the south-east campus experienced another minor flood.
