Our Facility:

The X-Ray facility at the YSU Structure & Chemical Instrumentation Facility is equipped with several state of the art instruments for both single crystal and powder diffraction, including a SMART APEX CCD and a D8 Advance Powder Diffractometer. Two single point detector Siemens P4 instruments available on site are today mainly used for teaching purposes. An S2 Ranger X-Ray Fluoresence spectrometer and several light microscopes for sample mounting do complete the setup for your analytical tasks in the field of sophisticated solid state chemistry.

When at YSU, don't forget to visit the world class mineral collection at the Clarence R. Smith Mineral Museum with world class crystal specimens from major districts of the world, unique mineral associations, specimens illustrating plant and animal fossilations and much more. The Museum is located in the lobby of Moser Hall on the YSU Campus, just across from our location in Ward Beecher Science Hall.
